Please find the recipe straight down at the bottom

Hello good people, I am back with another post and today’s post is about one of my favorite foods out there, barbeque wings!! Believe it or not it was actually my first time making these, oh yes. I usually just buy them and enjoy them alone in my room why? Because they are just too good to share, lol. Anyways, as I was saying, it was my first time making these therefore I wasn’t really sure how they would come out. Let’s cut to the chase, THEY CAME OUT GREAT!! Way better than I had expected.

It was never my intention to make BBQ wings. I was chilling on my couch, minding my own business, going through my friends’ WhatsApp statuses and then there they were, on one of my friends’ statuses, BBQ wings. They looked yummy, sticky and all sorts of good, and I believe I even heard one of them say “Lele, come eat us”, lol, for real! Unfortunately I couldn’t as they were on a WhatsApp status so my alternative was to make my own.

I immediately asked my friend for the recipe, and planned to buy the ingredients the very next day. I did not buy the ingredients the next day! I have this tendency of planning to do something then when the time comes I just suddenly change my mind, believe me I’m trying so hard to change that about me. Anyways, back to the wings, I finally bought them and made them yesterday, which was about a month later since I decided to buy and make them, yep! But hey, like I said, I’m working on changing the habit of delaying to do what I plan.

So, what did I buy and why?

1) Seasoning – I don’t think I need to go in detail with this one because as we all know, seasoning plays a key role in giving meat flavor.

2) Cooking oil – Marinating with oil protects the chicken from the heat of cooking and helps it brown.

3) Honey – For that sweet and sticky effect

4) Lemon juice – Lemon juice helps tenderize meat and allow marinade’s oil and spices to infuse the meat with flavor and moisture

5) BBQ and Tomato Sauce – For the flavor I was going for.

6) And of course chicken wings – meal prep of the day

All the above combined gave me the best chicken wings everrrr!! Please find the ingredients and directions down below:

PrepTime: 5-10 minutes

CookTime: 30-35 minutes

Serves: 3 people

INGREDIENTS

  • Tablespoon 6gun seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon crushed garlic seasoning

  • 3 Tablespoons cooking oil

  • 2 Tablespoons honey

  • 4 Tablespoons lemon juice

  • BBQ sauce (1 cup)

  • Tomato sauce (1/2 cup)

  • Chicken wings (7 pieces)

DIRECTIONS

1. Defrost wings if frozen

2. Add spices, salt, oil and lemon juice to wings and coat well. Turn on your oven to 200c

3. Line your baking tray with foil then put your wings. Put in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until they start to get crispy

4. While wings are in the oven, heat up pot and pour in tomato sauce, then BBQ sauce, then honey. Leave on stove for 2 minutes then put aside.

5. After your wings are done in the oven, add them to the sauce, tossing to coat well. After coating, put back on the baking tray (on a new foil) then put back in the oven for 10-15 more minutes

6. They are done. Take out of the oven. Should be sticky.

7. Now, as always, ENJOY!!

UNTIL THE NEXT POST. BYE FOR NOW!!!

Love Lele!
